The work of Käthe Kollwitz is valued and cherished worldwide. However, only one place where the artist's personality can be authentically experienced today has survived war and destruction: her last residence in Moritzburg. The house has been a museum since 1995 and, with a small graphic collection of 30 originals, provides an overview of more than 50 years of Käthe Kollwitz' artistic work. Photographs, excerpts from diary entries and letters as well as an audio station provide an insight into very personal life situations. At the end of the tour are the two rooms in which Käthe Kollwitz lived from July 1944 until her death on April 22, 1945. The permanent exhibition on the life and work of Käthe Kollwitz is supplemented by special themed exhibitions.
